Creating Audio Flashcards
Audio Flashcards supports multiple ways to build cards: record your voice, convert text to speech, or batch-create cards from CSV.
Create a folder
Organize cards by subject before you add content.
- From the Library/Home screen, tap New Folder.
- Give it a name and open it to start adding cards.
Record your voice
- Open a folder and tap Add Card.
- Tap the Record button for the front prompt.
- Speak clearly, then tap Stop.
- Record the back answer, or add text for the answer.
- Review and finish the card.
Tips:
- Record in a quiet space for cleaner audio.
- Keep prompts short so they are easy to replay.
- You can replace or insert new audio later, and trim clips if needed.
Use text-to-speech
- Open a folder and tap Add Card.
- Enter the front text and back text.
- Choose Text-to-Speech for the audio source.
- Pick a voice and preview it.
- Review and finish the card.
TTS is great for quick creation or when you want a consistent voice across a folder.
Text-to-speech sources
You can choose a TTS source in Settings > Text-To-Speech and set Side Correspondence so the app uses the right voice for each side:
- On Device: Uses the voices installed on your phone.
- Amazon Polly: Cloud voices with wider language options.
- OpenAI TTS: Natural voices with multiple styles.
Batch create from CSV
If you already have a list of questions and answers, import a CSV and generate audio cards in bulk.
- Open a folder and choose Import CSV.
- Paste or select a CSV file.
- Map columns (front, back) and confirm.
- The app generates audio using your selected TTS source.
